Operates several types of construction equipment such as dump trucks, bulldozers, front end loaders, graders, tracked excavators or water trucks to excavate, move, grade, and load haul trucks.
Typically works 12 hours per day, 6-7 days per week in extreme hot and cold environments after acclimatization. Wears all required personal protective equipment on daily basis. May be exposed to snakes, insects and similar with PPE and protective clothing/creams provided to minimize exposure May be required to work on variable terrain in performance of duties. Valid driver’s license and good driving record essential if required to operate motor vehicle. Routinely lifts/carries up to 50 pounds unassisted on daily basis.
Routine climbing into/out of equipment while maintaining 3 points of contact.
May be required to enter trenches and/or excavations after receiving appropriate training.
Hand Rigging may be required.
May be exposed to/ required to handle hazardous material such as diesel fuel and similar petroleum products with PPE provided to minimize exposure.
Hand/eye coordination is essential
May be required to work at night

Education and Experience:
High School Diploma preferred, two-three years verifiable and relevant experience.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Learn and follow safety regulations.
Take actions to avoid potential hazards or obstructions, such as utility lines, other equipment, other workers, or falling objects.
Locate underground services, such as pipes or wires, prior to beginning work.
Monitor operations to ensure that health and safety standards are met.
Adjust hand wheels and depress pedals to control attachments, such as blades, buckets, scrapers, or swing booms.
Start engines, move throttles, switches, or levers, or depress pedals to operate machines, such as bulldozers, trench excavators, road graders, or backhoes.
Coordinate machine actions with other activities, positioning or moving loads in response to hand or audio signals from crew members.
Load and move dirt, rocks, equipment, or other materials, using trucks, crawler tractors, power cranes, shovels, graders, or related equipment.
Check fuel supplies at sites to ensure adequate availability.
Drive and maneuver equipment equipped with blades in successive passes over working areas to remove topsoil, vegetation, or rocks or to distribute and level earth or terrain.
Learn and follow safety regulations; follow instructions and meet set standards; judge distances and slopes accurately; make decisions based on verifiable standards. Work in dusty or dirty surroundings ; Workers must be able to stoop, bend, and crouch; use hands, arms and legs fully; Good vision and hearing (either naturally or with correction), lift up to 80 pounds with frequent lifting and carrying of objects weighing 50 pounds or less. Must be able to pass construction equipment operator qualification testing/observation.
