Posted Position Title: Waste Water Treatment Operator B Career Level: Experienced Function: Manufacturing Function Segment: Shop Operations Location: United States U.S. State, China or Canada Provinces: South Carolina City: Greenville Postal Code: 29615-4614 Relocation Assistance: No Role Summary/Purpose: The Waste Water Treatment Operator B located in the Greenville Gas Turbine Manufacturing plant will be responsible for the safe, daily operation of the plant’s Waste Water Treatment Facility. Essential Responsibilities: As the Waste Water Treatment Operator B, you will:


  • Be responsible for the safe daily operation of the Waste Water Treatment Facility
  • Be responsible for the hazardous waste systems
  • Verify compliance of hazardous waste shipping and handling techniques
  • Perform other related duties including maintaining a safe and clean work area
  • Perform all duties as part of a team
  • High School Diploma / GED


  • Licensed by South Carolina as a Waste Water Plant Operator "B" in either physical / chemical OR biological plant operations. (The selected candidate will be required to attain both licenses in the designated time frame after hiring)
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening
  • Ability and willingness to work off shift
Additional Eligibility Qualifications: GE will only employ those who are legally authorized to work in the United States for this opening. Any offer of employment is conditioned upon the successful completion of a background investigation and drug screen. Desired Characteristics:
  • Demonstrated proficiency in written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated knowledge in sprinkler and other fire suppression systems
  • Demonstrated proficiency in occupational safety management and compliance
  • Demonstrated proficiency in mechanical and electrical skills
  • Demonstrated proficiency in fire protection systems operation, testing, and theory
  • Advanced RCRA hazardous waste training
  • Certified under OSHA 29CFR
    1910.120, 24 hour emergency response
  • GE certification or equivalent in D.O.T. hazardous waste transportation laws
